Strings trickle like fluids as the watery depths of Potential (6:32) echo and blurt with occasional gulps of darkness. Muted clangs form a Radiant Wind (3:32) in the form of brief ephemeral wisps which have the power to captivate... lovely simplicity. As if emanating from a digital swamp, the humidly spacious atmospheres of Malaria are steeped in animalistic chatter, chirps and whispers. Valley chimes with fractured tinkles and periodic harmonica glares. Deep Sound Channel's semi-ominous pulses are strewn with jittery echoes for deep moody immersion. Jangling Oriental instrumentation loops in subtle flows, laced with human voice as Daydream closes this enigmatic 40.5 minute excursion Impressively subdued, the eight tracks of hypernatural # 2 makes for a great first impression of Yoshio Machida. His blend of ethnic instrumentation and electronic post-processing mimic various phenomena, and sometimes just create their own.
